Yes. Walk-in patients are seen in order of arrival. For longer visits such as sleep studies, detailed dizziness testing or surgical consultations, we recommend booking ahead so you can be seen without waiting. You can book through Naver Booking or by phone (+82-51-977-8000).
Masterpiece ENT Clinic is on the 8th floor of BNK Suyeong Tower, 693 Suyeong-ro, Suyeong-gu, Busan, right by Exit 1 of Suyeong Station. For transportation and parking details, see Directions at the bottom of this page or call us at +82-51-977-8000.
Two Representative Directors, both board-certified otolaryngologists with a Ph.D. in Medicine, see patients here. Dr. Tae-Hoon Lee focuses on rhinoplasty, deviated septum, sinusitis, snoring and sleep apnea, while Dr. Bo-Young Kim focuses on ear conditions such as otitis media, hearing loss, tinnitus and dizziness.
We start with a detailed interview about when and how your dizziness occurs, then choose the tests you need. These may include video nystagmography, caloric testing, the head impulse test, posturography, autonomic function testing and hearing tests to find which part of the vestibular system is affected. We only perform the tests that match your symptoms, not every test at once.
Treatment for BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo) depends on which semicircular canal the displaced ear crystals have entered. After testing confirms their location, we perform the canalith repositioning maneuver suited to your type and, if needed, add vestibular rehabilitation and lifestyle guidance. Because BPPV often recurs, we also teach you what to do if it comes back.
Even with normal brain imaging, dizziness can persist because of problems in the inner ear’s vestibular system or the autonomic nervous system. Vestibular function tests and autonomic function tests can help find the cause. If your dizziness keeps coming back, we recommend seeing an ENT specialist.
No. Tinnitus is not something you simply have to put up with as you age. Its causes vary, including hearing loss, middle ear disease, stress and autonomic imbalance, so we first identify the cause with hearing tests, otoacoustic emissions and tinnitus matching. Depending on the cause, treatment may include medication, intratympanic steroid injections, tinnitus retraining therapy or sound therapy.
Tinnitus is a sound only you can hear, so it is hard to describe in words. At Masterpiece ENT Clinic, we combine questionnaires on the character, loudness, frequency and impact of your tinnitus with tinnitus matching tests to assess its severity objectively.
Not always. Treatment depends on the cause and degree of hearing loss. Some types, such as hearing loss from otitis media, can recover with treatment, while others benefit from a hearing aid. After hearing tests confirm the cause and degree, we guide you through choosing the right device and how to use it if one is needed.
No. If your septum is bent but you have no or only mild symptoms, surgery isn’t necessary. We consider septoplasty when nasal congestion is severe and doesn’t improve with nasal irrigation or medication. Because the location and degree of deviation differ for everyone, we decide after checking with endoscopy and imaging.
L-septoplasty is a technique developed by Dr. Tae-Hoon Lee. It corrects the upper and front parts of the septum, which are difficult to straighten, while rebuilding the septum to be strong and stable. The technique has been published in an SCIE-indexed international journal. Whether it suits you is decided after examining your septum.
Repeated sneezing, clear runny nose and nasal congestion may suggest allergic rhinitis, but testing often shows non-allergic types such as vasomotor, drug-induced or hypertrophic rhinitis. Because treatment depends on the cause, it is important to tell them apart with allergy testing first.
Immunotherapy helps your body gradually adapt to the substances that trigger your allergy. Unlike medication, which temporarily relieves symptoms, it aims to reduce the allergic reaction itself. At Masterpiece ENT Clinic we mainly use sublingual immunotherapy, in which medicine is placed under the tongue. We explain the treatment period and whether it suits you based on your allergy test results.
Rhinitis is inflammation of the lining inside the nose that causes sneezing, runny nose and congestion. Sinusitis is inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, the air-filled spaces around the nose, and may come with yellow nasal discharge, facial pain, headache and a reduced sense of smell. Because rhinitis can lead to sinusitis, an accurate diagnosis is important.
No. Depending on whether it is acute or chronic, whether there are nasal polyps, and their size and extent, we may start with medication or monitoring. Endoscopic sinus surgery is considered when sinusitis does not respond to medication or is extensive.
Yes. In the United States, facial plastic surgeons, a subspecialty of otolaryngology, perform many facial plastic procedures including rhinoplasty. Dr. Tae-Hoon Lee trained as a visiting professor in facial plastic and sleep surgery at Stanford University, and performs rhinoplasty that considers both how the nose works and how it looks.
Before surgery, we use 3D virtual simulation to decide together on a nose shape that suits your face, then create a patient-specific 3D-printed surgical guide to check that shape during surgery. This helps narrow the gap between the simulation and the actual result. The 3D-printed rhinoplasty guide was developed and patented by Dr. Tae-Hoon Lee.
Often, yes. Raising or reshaping the nose frequently requires straightening and strengthening the septum, the structure that supports the nose. If you have congestion from a deviated septum or similar problems, functional improvement and rhinoplasty can be planned together. Whether this is possible is decided after examination and testing.
Some snoring is harmless, but if it comes with sleep apnea, where breathing stops during sleep, treatment is needed. Sleep apnea is linked not only to daytime sleepiness and fatigue but also to conditions such as high blood pressure. If you’ve been told you stop breathing in your sleep, or you wake up unrefreshed, we recommend a sleep study.
A sleep study (polysomnography) records your brain waves, breathing, oxygen levels, heart rhythm and movements while you sleep overnight in our sleep lab. Masterpiece ENT Clinic has three private sleep labs, and a licensed sleep technologist stays on site throughout the test. Results are interpreted by Dr. Tae-Hoon Lee, a European-certified somnologist (expert in sleep medicine).
If sleep apnea is suspected and certain criteria are met, Korean National Health Insurance may cover the sleep study and CPAP therapy. Because eligibility depends on your symptoms and test results, we will explain the details after your consultation.
CPAP keeps your airway open with air pressure while you sleep and is an effective treatment for sleep apnea. Using sleep data from a CPAP titration study, Masterpiece ENT Clinic fine-tunes the pressure so it is comfortable to use. Depending on your airway structure, surgery may also improve the condition, so we decide on treatment together after reviewing your results.
Patients often come to us when fatigue and stress have built up, when recovery from a cold or respiratory illness is slow, or when their stamina has dropped after surgery. IV therapy is not a cure for every kind of fatigue, so we first check through consultation whether you need it.
No. We don’t prescribe the same IV for everyone. After consultation, a medical interview and, if needed, blood tests and autonomic function tests, we tailor the IV formula to the nutrients you lack. Our IV rooms include private, two-person and four-person rooms so you can rest comfortably during treatment.
